First introduced by Babbitt over a century ago white metal has evolved into the complex anti friction materials we use today. Babbitts original reason for developing white metal (or Babbitt alloy) was to produce a bearing material that would protect the crankshaft from the wear caused by abrasive particles carried around in the oil. Because white metal is relatively soft, these particles embed below the surface of the bearing thus protecting the crankshaft from their abrasive effect.

Now produced in Germany as part of the Ecka Granules group - Hoyt 11R & 11Z3 tin based white metals still offer the ultimate in purity and consistency for maximum performance and reliability    



Our ready to assemble service includes: Recasting your original bearings in new Hoyt, tin based white metal - Refitting & machining (line boring etc) the bearings to suit the shaft - Trial assembly to ensure you will have a trouble free and enjoyable rebuild. Castings & Materials guaranteed fault free for life of engine with this service

All completed bearings are trial assembled to ensure a perfect fit.



Primarily for machine shops and other white metallers this service has also proved popular with overseas customers and private enthusiasts with home machining facilities. Your shells / rods are recast in 11R / 11Z3 white metal for you to complete (see machine shop instructions). For overseas customers this service has the advantage that only the shells / rods need to be shipped. Castings & Materials guaranteed fault free for the life of the engine with this service
